The entire country facing enormous challenges in ensuring better health and nutrition status of the population, especially in the face of the recent wave of extremism coupled with devastating floods and food insecurity. The NNS- 2011, has revealed that nutritional status of children under five years of age and Pregnant & Lactating women have deteriorated over the last decade. The survey results have shown that at national level 44% under-five children are stunted, while 15% are wasted. The anthropometric indices are relatively worse in rural areas.
SCAP – Balochistan with support of World Food Program (WFP) Balochistan implemented a Community based Management for the Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) at District Loralai, for treatment of acutely malnourished children and Pregnant & Lactating women through appropriate supplementary foods.
