Narrative Description of the Project:
The “Post-Floods Resilient Recovery and Strengthening of the Livestock Sector in Balochistan” project is a European Union-funded initiative jointly implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). The project aims to enhance the food security, resilience, and livelihoods of livestock-dependent households affected by the 2022 floods by promoting climate-smart livestock production and sustainable husbandry practices.
Under this initiative, the Society for Community Action Process (SCAP) is responsible for establishing and operationalizing Farmer Field Schools (FFS) to strengthen the technical knowledge and practical skills of livestock farmers through participatory, hands-on learning. The project focuses on improving animal health, feed and fodder production, genetic improvement, natural resource management, safe and nutritious food production, value addition, and market linkages while promoting women’s empowerment, youth engagement, and climate resilience.
Through the formation of community outreach groups, demonstration plots, field days, exchange visits, and continuous technical support, the project seeks to improve livestock productivity, increase household incomes, strengthen community resilience to climate change, and encourage the adoption of sustainable livestock management practices across the target districts of Balochistan.
FFS Community Sensitization & Awareness Session
The session introduced the project and the Farmer Field School (FFS) approach to the local community, with active participation from community elders, Livestock Department representatives, LSO members, and livestock farmers. The event included interactive discussions, community feedback, and the collection of Village Focal Person information through the prescribed proformas. We sincerely appreciate the dedication of the SCAP-Balochistan implementation team, the Livestock Department, Rahbar LSO, and the local community for their valuable support and cooperation in making this event a successful.
Coordination Meeting with UC Zeedi Community Notables Regarding the Upcoming FFS Community Sensitization and Awareness Session
A formal coordination meeting with the community notables of UC Zeedi in preparation for the upcoming Farmer Field School (FFS) Community Sensitization and Awareness Session. The meeting was organized at the SCAP Khuzdar Office and included the District Program Team Lead, Gender and Communication Officer, Admin Officer, FFS Supervisor, and FFS Facilitators.
The primary objective of the meeting was to introduce the upcoming FFS activities, discuss the purpose and objectives of the Community Sensitization and Awareness Session, and seek the support and cooperation of local community representatives for the successful implementation of the project.

Capacity Building Training of Farmer Field School (FFS) Facilitators
 one-day Capacity Building Training for Farmer Field School (FFS) Facilitators was conducted from 10:00 AM to 3:40 PM. The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of FFS facilitators regarding project implementation, coordination, social mobilization, gender integration, and digital data collection through the Kobo Tool.
The primary objective of the meeting was to introduce the upcoming FFS activities, discuss the purpose and objectives of the Community Sensitization and Awareness Session, and seek the support and cooperation of local community representatives for the successful implementation of the project.
